Concept
Ceramic designer, Shoko Kawahara, approached Tapie for the design and display of her brand's solo exhibition in Kyoto. The gallery "Kodo-kan", located near the Imperial Palace, is a historical residence built in the Edo period (17-19th century). The title of the exhibition "Kikkouten" was a traditional Chinese event which is considered as the origin of Tanabata, Star Festival, on July 7th in Japan. This exhibition was designed based on the traditional tale of Tanabata.
